I am displaying collective non-spaces, partly memorized and partly forgotten childhood playgrounds which invoke nostalgic memories of the viewers personal spaces. By exhibiting drawings/prints of the childhood most popular games (hopscotch, elastics, jump rope…), I bring in a nostalgic look into the past, playing with the correlation of remembering and forgetting.
Also, I challenge the audience to explore their own memories by giving them objects –jump rope, elastics and chalk– and inviting them to play once more, but this time on the playground in the gallery space.
