In the work titled “Directions for Rapprochement” the stripped author and a blindfolded visitor get confined in tight quarters. Talk is not allowed. The work explores emotional discomfort with closeness in the absence of audio visual communication and reliance on the sense of touch outside intimate communications. Each individual, in its own way, is engaged in reexamining the communication codes on different social levels and in different situations by giving directions to other, while receiving the same.
